The MOQ Truth: Why Brands Get Stuck on Minimums
January 8, 2025 Aromiso Sourcing Team
Minimum order quantities (MOQs) feel like a wall for new brands, but they are usually a starting point, not a rule. A factory sets MOQ to cover setup and material batch costs; those costs shrink as you build a relationship.
Three ways to stay flexible: start with a pilot run on a single SKU, group several fragrances into one production batch, or use a sourcing partner that pools orders across clients. Some suppliers also offer “stock service” formulas you can label under your own brand with far lower minimums.
The goal is not to fight the MOQ but to structure your first order so it proves demand before you commit to a full container.
